Engagement Terms

The parts of every engagement letter that a buyer asks about first.

What you own

You own your data, and you receive a perpetual license to everything we deliver. DataGoats keeps the frameworks, templates and code underneath, which is why the second dashboard is faster than the first. It is in every engagement letter.

The retainer

A dashboard sold once should pay for years. Our retainers refresh the data as frequently as you need it, maintain the build, and include light analysis, at a fraction of the cost of the build and a fraction of the cost of a hire. It runs month to month after the build and can be ended with notice.

Your data

Every engagement comes with a written data-handling policy. Named tools on enterprise zero-retention tiers; local processing for protected health information and privileged material; your consent before any tool touches your data; counsel sign-off before anything touches litigation material. More on how we work.

Scope

Every engagement is scoped in writing before it starts, and nothing is built before the plan is agreed. A change of scope is a decision you make at an approval gate, not a surprise on an invoice.

This site

The site is a concept for the firm and describes work in general terms. Nothing on it is advice for your situation until we have looked at your data.
